Impressions of Tirana according to a Turkish Blogger

Tirana is attracting bloggers from all over the world. This time is a Turkish blogger site https://ikikapilihan.com/ who wrote an article about Albanian Capital.

Tirana has a lot of things to see and discover. This article is giving some impressions of Tirana seen from the eye of Turkish traveler.

Let's see some of his descriptions about places, food and characteristics of Albanians in first sight:

Attractions

"Albanians are one of the oldest nations in Europe. Albania is a very small country with a population of only 3.5 million people. The capital city of Tirana, where almost one inhabitants live, is 800,000. We can say it's a big city for this little country.
During the 4 days I spent in Tirana I always felt this warmness of the Albanians.

Although Albanians are a very old nation, Tirana is a very young city.
The heart of Tirana is the main Square, where is placed the Sculpture of Skenderbej, the National History Museum, the Opera and the Ethem Bey Mosque. It's a fairly large challenge. There is not such a wide square in Ankara with 5.5 million.
In the city's prestige boulevard Deshmoret e Kombit  were located  the important institutions of Albania, including the Presidential Office and the Prime Ministry. A wide street. There are pine trees from both sides.
Tirana is a very green city. One of the parks in the city center is Rinia Park. Ideal for a little break in warm weather.

There is a neighborhood, which during Communist era, was called ' bloc', where has been the house of Enver Hoxha. On the top floor of a building on the Ibrahim Rugova street where you can go for dinner, you can see the entire area clearly from the Sky Tower..
Another important streets of Tirana is Kavaja Avenue. It is pleasant to walk on this street filled with trees. It is as cool as possible in summer.

What to Eat, Where to Eat

Located in the block district, Era Restaurant is a central restaurant with traditional and modern meals. I would definitely recommend it. I had a famous 'fergese me melci'. It's made from lamb meat in a casserole. It is served very hot. There's also corn bread in it.

Another Albanian classic, Petulla te fshira me djathe. I think we have another pet bubble. It is made by arranging the crepe dough like a pie. It contains plenty of garlic and a little cheese.
If you prefer a little more luxury restaurant, I recommend the restaurant on the roof of the Xheko Imperial Hotel. Both the view and the food are delicious.
I tried Elbasan Tava, one of Albanian famous dishes, at Xheko Imperial. It's a meat dish. The lamb was prepared by baking with yogurt. Not bad. Byrek is a flavor that is found in almost every cafĂ©.
Finally a cup of coffee. Coffee culture is dominant in Tirana. Both Turkish and Italian influences are very beautiful and varied. I have not seen so many cafes such as in Tirana anywhere else. In the center there are cafes under each apartment and they are quite busy.
