The Italian travel blogger Katia Pisani writes an article
about recreational parks, green spaces, forests, lakes and protected areas in
the outskirt of Tirana. Here there are the Parks and Recreation Areas that you
should visit in Tirana according to her:
Grand Park of Artificial
Lake in Tirana
Parku i liqenit (Lake Park Tirana) is a large park
surrounding an artificial lake to the South of Tirana. It was built around the
'50s. From March a new attraction
welcomes visitors, the Fountains of the Lake.

Tirana Zoo
The zoo was established in 1966 and is the only one of its
kind in Albania. Recently, The Tirana Municipality announced the intention to
extend the zoo into the park, creating better conditions for the animals. On weekends, zoo visitors can rent 4 wheeled
pedal for free to go around the Park.

National Martyr’s
Memorial Park
Here, there is located the Mother Albania, a 12 m statue, dedicated in 1971. The statue
figuratively represents the country as a mother guarding over the eternal
slumber of those who gave their lives for her.
Kashar Park
Also called the Reservoir of Purez-Kus Reserve. This place
is considered as one of the most
picturesque and biologically unsoiled suburbs of Tirana. Here you can find
centuries –old olive trees.
Vaqarr Park
The park is located between the villages of Vaqarr, Lalm and
Ember and has a very favorable and accessible geographical location. This area
is known for the combination of black pine forests and oak forests, bathed by
the waters of Lake Vaqarr.
Farka Park
This park is considered another important recreational area
of Tirana, as well as being a beautiful green lung.

National Park of
Mount Dajti
It occupies an area of 29,000 hectares. There are 200 –year-
old beech trees, the true richness of this great natural monument of Albania.
Mount Dajti National Park (1,611m above sea level) is easily accessible from
the city, just 25 km to its east
Rinia Park - Youth
Park
Rinia Park (Youth Park) is the main urban park in the centre
of Tirana. Planted with eucalyptus, poplar and acacia trees, this park, for the
first forty years, was seen as a relatively free space for young people in
Tirana as well as a green area for families and children.

The Botanic Garden of
Tirana
Completed in 1971, the Botanic Garden serves as a
"natural" laboratory for all the universities of Albania and has been
very popular with schoolchildren of all ages from across the country.
