TravelBlog: Tirana, the capital city with polite people and interesting attractions

The TravelBlog.org is travel website which recently has published an article about Albania and the capital city, Tirana. The blogger Tom Rooney visited Tirana and expressed a deep affection for the people of Albania. Tirana for him is an easy city to navigate, with the major attractions all within easy walking distance.
In Tirana, he finds the locals very polite, gracious, gentle, and helpful. Especially around the city center, the streets are clean and organized. The national hero Skanderbeg had an impressive history with many victories over the powerful Ottomans during the course of a twenty five year rebellion from 1443 to 1468, and the museum dedicated to the warlord is a must see for visitors to the town.

There is also an ethnological museum in Kruje castle, providing a fascinating insight on the life and history of the Albanians. Although it's only an hour distance with the bus from Tirana, the city is up in the mountains, so be prepared for a colder climate during winter in this place. I headed back to Tirana in the evening after a full day.
